Description: 3-D flocking simulation using Reynolds' boid model, rendered with the Ogre3D graphics engine. This animation shows a group of corvette ships approaching a destroyer (capital ship). When in range, turrets on both the corvettes and the destroyer fire upon each other. Corvettes use Reynolds' 3-D flocking model. Models are from the Sierra On-Line game Homeworld 2.

Description: Two groups of 75 agents each, flocking and engaging in combat. The flocking uses the Reynolds boid model, and the Ogre3D graphics engine is used for rendering during the simulation. Simple particle systems are used for the rocket smoke trails and explosions. As indicated in the previous post, the movement of agents is restricted to a plane - a limitation that will be eliminated once Massforge moves to full 3-D movement in 2008.

Description: Flocking simulation using Reynolds' boid model with 100 agents, rendered with the Ogre3D graphics engine. In this simulation, the movement of agents is restricted to a plane. The spring, 2008 edition of the system will use 3-D banking and steering, with other imported models.
